The arrangement is intended for tuning a keyboard instrument. It uses a stethoscope to transmit the sound directly from the instrument to the ears of the tuner. The stethoscope is pref. applied to the resonance board of the instrument and may have two separate sound conductors, pref. consisting of flexible tubes in rubber or the like. The tubes may have an outer sound-attenuating layer and an inner sound-conducting layer. They may have sound collecting cups for fixing to the resonance board with double-sided adhesive strips or the like. They may have tube clamps for attenuation.
