Solar collector with liq. medium - has hollow glass bodies covering black fibre matting backed by sealing and heat insulating layers

The rectangular solar collector has a transparent cover and a bottom, heat-insulating layer. Hollow bodies of glass are mounted in rows to cover black fibre matting through which the liq. medium flows for heating. This arrangement protects the collector should the medium flow fail, even at high temperatures. The bottom sides of the hollow bodies (7) are convex. A transparent foil (6) of heat resistant plastics is placed underneath them (7). The liq. medium enters the collector from above and leaves below. Under this outlet a collector vessel with an overflow is provided. Heat insulating layers (2,3) are placed in the flat, rectangular shell (1). On top of these (2,3) a rubber sealing layer (4) is placed, on top of which the black matting (5) is placed.
