The device has an insulating glass element with a heat conducting medium (water) flowing through its intermediate volume and at least one external connections. One insulating glass element has a hollow body in its intermediate volume with at least one external connection and at least one glass panel carries a special coating applied by screen printing or vapor deposition. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of acquiring energy, preferably using solar heat, a method of extracting energy, cooling rooms and/or shading and a method of using the inventive device.
