The binding is for cross-country skis, where the adhesion centre section essential for the forward movement is lifted from the snow during the sliding phase. The lifting process is carried out by the foot movement of the skier being transmitted by a lever system to the adhesion section. With the foot flat on the ski the adhesion section is raised and when foot and ski form an angle the lever system comes into operation. The adhesion section in a cross-country ski slotted in the middle has a bearing on two levers so that it can carry out the change over movement, and the lever system is fitted with an adjusting screw to regulate the movement of the adhesion section.
