The heat exchanger contains a flowing medium, and may build into chimneys with hearth and flue, during construction or subsequently. It consists of a horizontal lower hollow grid (1), to support the fuel, with an associated exchanger (7) located in or in front of the flue, and connected to the grid via an integral fluid circuit. The heat exchanger has fluid inlet (14) and outlet (24). The lower grid has an associated upper hollow grid (2), enclosing the hearth at the top. The two grids are connected via support pipes (3,4) near their ends. The heat exchanger (7) is formed by the rear pipes (12,22) of both grids, and their connecting exchanger pipes (71).
