摘要
Chain link welding machine, uses a driven and continuously rotating control shaft running at a constant r.p.m. (Sw) during the welding time, where the speed (Sw) is suitable for the welding operation. Between two successive welding cycles, a higher r.p.m. (Sp) is employed for the control shaft. Pref., two simultaneously driven electric motors are employed to rotate the control shaft, both motors being fitted with pole changing controls so that the motor speeds can be changed from Sw to Sp and then back to Sw to suit the welding cycle. One or two electric motors are employed with gear boxes and couplings to achieve the same objective. When the adjacent ends of thick wire or rod links are to be welded, it is only possible to increase the welding current to a limited extend and the welding time must be increased; this means that a relatively slow speed (Sw) must be employed for the control shaft. To minimise the loss of productive time, the shaft speed is increased in the pauses between the welding cycles; this also has the advantage that the weld is hotter when it reaches the flash removal tools, i.e. shearing the welding burr.
