Wind deflector for car roof opening - has universal fitting as pre-assembled mounting for existing sliding roof panel

The wind deflector for the front edge of a car sliding roof opening has a pre-assembled fitting which is located in the side rails for the roof panel and with sloping springs (13) to hold the deflector in the raised position. The leading edge of the roof panel rides over the springs and causes the deflector to retract. The spring strips are riveted into U-channel clips (11) which sit inside the rails and which are secured by a single self tapping screw (8) on each side. The screw also serves to locate a wire spring (23) to reinforce the spring effect. The whole assembly can be fitted as an optional extra to the vehicle.
