The deflector has a sheet-like, flexible and partially air permeable deflector element transferred from a stored and folded operating mode to a stretched operating mode by a pivot bracket in vehicle vertical direction i.e. z-direction. A folding element with mounting and folding portions provides folding assistance to the deflector element. The folding element is affixed at a sun roof (4) or sun roof module (5) of a vehicle (1) by the mounting portion while the folding portion in the stretched mode is spring-elastic biased against the deflector element in a main direction of vehicle travel.
