A low pressure throttle body injection apparatus for spark ignition internal combustion engine includes an injector mechanism mounted above a throttle body (20) having at least one throttle bore (21) with a throttle valve (24) controlling flow therethrough. A valve controlled fuel injector (26) is supported in a socket (39) in the injector mechanism with its spray tip end (26a) positioned to inject fuel toward the throttle bore (21) wall upstream of the throttle valve (24). Fuel is injected at pulsed intervals and during low air flow conditions when the throttle valve is in the closed position a substantial portion of the fuel reaches the wall 21 and migrates along the wall to mix with the combustion air at the opening between the throttle valve and the wall.
