SAFETY CAP OF HAND STARTER FOR SMALL GENERAL-PURPOSE DIESEL ENGINE

PURPOSE:To facilitate fitting and removal of the starter handle of a diesel engine started by the rotation of a starter handle, by projecting the end of the shaft of the starter from a boss portion and detachably fitting a cap covering the end portion of the shaft. CONSTITUTION:A pin 9 is set in the end portion of the housing 1 of the shaft 2 of a starter, an oil seal 13 is further arranged in the housing, and the end of the shaft is projected from a boss portion 1a. On the other hand, a synthetic resin made cap 10 is fitted removably on the end of the boss portion 1a via its taper shaped fitting portion so as to make contact with the end of the shaft 2 of the starter, and the contact prevents the accompanied rotation of the shaft 2 of the starter. Furthermore, the raise of pressure in the cap caused by the raise of inside temperature is prevented by drilling an air vent hole 10a in the cap 10, and the cap 10 is connected to the housing 1 by a chain 11. Thereby, the fitting and the removal of a starter handle 12 can be effected easily.
