NEW MATERIAL:A 7,11,15-trimethyl-3-methylene-1,6,10,14-hexadecatetraene expressed by the formula. USE:A flavor improver for tobacco, especially capable of improving the flavor of tobacco produced from leaf tobacco or regenerated or synthetic tobacco having little flavor and much stimulant. PROCESS:An extract is obtained from the leaves of tobacco belonging to the burley species with dichloromethane and is distilled with steam. The volatile neutral fraction thus obtained is then isolated by the silica gel chromatography and then with the preparative gas chromatography.
