OBSERVING DEVICE FOR SURFACE PROPERTY OF RED HOT OBJECT

PURPOSE:To obtain an ingot having good surface property by making the observation of a red hot object and the measurement of its surface temp. possible through a narrow clearance of a continuous casting machine for ingots. CONSTITUTION:A titled device consisting of one piece of image guide body 3, a beam splitter 5 connected to said body 3, an image pickup device 7 to be introduced with the beams split by the splitter 5, and temp. measuring devices 6, 9, 10 to be introduced with the other beams split by the splitter 5. Said body 3 is disposed by facing the neighborhood of a red hot object, for example, between rolls 2 and 2'. The image plane obtained by the body 3 is conducted to optical fibers, by which it is distributed, observed and measured.
