Keyboard musical instrument with playback facility - can record keyboard state every sixteenth of second in digital form on tape recorder

This electronic musical keyboard instrument can record the keystroke information during manual operation. The data are converted to a hexadecimal code and stored on magnetic tape. When the recorder is played, the sound is identical to the original playing in all respects. The state of all the keys on the keyboard (1) is sampled once every sixteenth of a second by a detector (31) which feeds a coding circuit (32). The coded data are fed via a drive unit (33) to the recorder (5) and the decoding circuit decoder output is fed to the note generators (2) via a drive circuit (42).
