Abstract of the DisclosureA reagent for the quantitative determination of waterin combination with a titration solution containing iodineis described. The reagent contains sulfur dioxide and ananhydrous alkali metal acetate in 2-methoxy ethanol or amixture of 2-methoxy ethanol and methanol in a volume ratioof at least 10:90. The reagent is characterized in thatwhen it is left to stand no precipitate forms and the in-crease in control value is kept to a minimum.
