1427953 Liquid/liquid separator FREDERIC R HARRIS (HOLLAND) BV and C G MIDDELBEEK 20 June 1973 [21 June 1972] 29232/73 Heading BID Oil is separated from a heavier liquid by passing between parallel inclined plates 5 and 6, and coalesced oil is withdrawn through conduit 12. Plate 5 slopes from a front wall 1 and plate 6 from a rear wall 2. Liquid to be separated enters through 10 to space 9 which reduces turbulence; oil-free liquid exits at 11. Fig. 1 shows a coalescing filter 13 between plates 5 and 6. Alternatively additional plates may subdivide the gap between plates 5 and 6. (Figs. 2 and 4 not shown). The inclination of plates may be reversed (Figs. 3 and 4 not shown). The plate inclination may be 30 degrees to the vertical.
