The invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a tetracyclononane derivative of the formula: IMAGE II wherein R1, R2 and R3 are hydrogen atoms or alkyl radicals and A is CH2CH2 or CH-R4 in which R4 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenylalkyl or optionally-substituted phenyl radical, or a salt thereof. The majority of compounds of the formula II are novel and they are included within the scope of the invention, as are processes for their manufacture. Typical of the compounds disclosed is 8-(1-amino-ethyl)tetracyclo-[4,3,0,02,4,03,7]nonane.
