In the pulley support for a crane jib, the pulleys (3) are mounted on a support (4) which fits into the cylindrical end (1) of a crane jib (2), and which rotates through 360 deg. The axis of the cable (15) is tangential to the pulley (3) root diameter, and is parallel to, and preferably identical with, the axis of the jib (2). A second set of pulleys (18) can be supported on a frame (22). Movement of the load results in rotation of the pulley support (4), so that the cables (13) are always perpendicular to axis of the pulleys (3).
