The covering grille for a fluorescent tube (1) light fitting comprises a parallel array of curved sided 'V' shaped laminations (4,5) which are perpendicular to the length of the tube. The laminations have a reflective coating and are intended to mask the tube from view from most angles while at the same time concentrating the maximum light onto a work area. Additionally a longitudinal outer reflector shell (3) is used. The profile used on the transversely oriented reflectors is formed from a segment of a parabola, and different reflectors have different profiles along the length of the tube and are oriented along different axes to ensure maximum light reflection. Each of the reflecting surfaces have specific dimensions which vary; those being visible by an observer being larger than those neighbouring the lamp.
