The light unit has a reflector (19) which is symmetrical along its longitudinal axis enclosing a tubular fluorescent light source (2), with a planar aperture (16) provided between the light source and the reflector, parallel to the reflector longitudinal axis, on one side of a main axis (32) of the parabola defined by the reflector. The aperture extends from a beginning point (17) in the immediate vicinity of the intersection between the focal point of the parabola and the main axis.
