PRESSURIZING BELT FOR SLUDGE DEHYDRATOR OF BELT PRESS TYPE

PURPOSE:To obtain a high dehydration effect of sludge, by applying a high face pressure from the outside of filter cloths, which sandwich sludge therebetween by using a sheet-like pressurizing belt produced by connecting a spiral coil of the wire rod with linear connecting members. CONSTITUTION:Sludge which is flocculated with a flocculating agent is supplied onto a lower filter cloth 3 at the part A and is dispersed uniformly in a transverse direction so as to be dehydrated by gravity. The concd. sludge layer is sandwiched between the upper and lower filter cloths 2 and 3 from the part B and as the spacing between the filter cloths decreases, the sludge is pressurized and dehydrated increasingly. The dehydration progresses with compression rolls 4-6. Finally the sludge moves into the spacing between a high pressure roll 7 and the rear surface of a pressurizing belt 1, where the sludge is compressed under high pressure and is then discharged from the part E. The belt 1 is wound on rolls 11-13 and high tension is applied on the belt 1 by controlling the roll 11. The belt 1 is formed of the sheet produced by intermeshing a spiral coil 14 of the wire rod, inserting linear connecting members 15 into the common holes formed by said intermeshing, and connecting the members successively. Such belt curves in conformity with the curvature of the roll without undue stress and the face pressure applied thereon is exerted uniformly over the entire width of the filter cloths, and since the belt has water permeable construction, the sludge is dehydrated with high efficiency.
