Appts. for collecting rain-water from gutter - in roof tank connected via ball-valve to downpipe with tap and second tank with sight glass below
The arrangement is intended for utilisation of rain water collected in the guttering of a house. A short line connects the lowest point of the gutter to a flat tank arranged in or just below the roof space. A float-operated valve opens the connection to a downpipe when the water level in the tank reaches a given level. This down pipe connects to an outside tap and to a second tank with sight glass or the like. This lower tank serves an inside tap and/or a toilet cistern etc. The capacity of the upper tank is pref. sufficient to provide water for (certain) domestic requirements (toilet cisterns, garden spray, washing machine, car wash etc.).
