In a rotor blade design the blade tip area is designed as a separate rotor blade part and connected to the rotor blade by way of a pivot axis so that the rotor blade part can be adjusted by wind forces. In this an adjusting movement is limited by an elastic element between rotor blade part and rotor blade. In addition the rotor blade part is designed so that in cross-section the centre of gravity of the profile, the shear centre of the supporting connection and the centre of pressure are arranged one after another starting from the profile leading edge. This design permits automatic damping for differing loads due to an automatic adjustment of the blade angle with a variation of the angle of flow. IMAGE
