A process for applying wear-resistant titanium carbide coatings to products consisting of sintered hard alloys is described, the products consisting of sintered hard alloys being subjected according to the invention to saturation with titanium by thermodiffusion at a temperature from 950 DEG to 1100 DEG C in a hydrogen atmosphere, using a powder mixture of titanium and titanium carbide as a filler and ammonium chloride as an activating additive. The proposed invention is used in the manufacture of products consisting of sintered hard alloys with a wear-resistant coating, in particular for multi-surface disposable cutting bits, which are used in metal working, in the motor vehicle industry, in machine tool construction and in other industry sectors.
