The clock has its mechanism housed within a box inside an ornate casing (1), e.g. a wild strawberry. The box includes three telescopic sections (5,6,7) the first of which (5) permanently surrounds the clock mechanism. The second and third sections (6,7) may be drawn out from the casing. Slots (11,15) in the casing and pegs (9,14) guide the telescopic action of the sections. In normal use the three sections of the box are telescoped together, with the result that the winder is hidden from view. In order to gain access to the winder, the sections are drawn out, the back section being anchored in the ornate mounting on which the clock is supported.
