The water heater for a refrigeration circuit (17) has at least two exchangers (18,19) working in cascade. The first (18), exchanges from a hot working fluid from a condenser (7) and/or refrigerant tank (8) to incoming water. The second (19) exchanges heat between the compressed gaseous refrigerant from the compressors (2,3,4) and preheated water from the first exchanger (18). The exchangers are both counterflow type. The heater has a liquid circulating pump (23), connected upstream of the second exchanger (19).
