The screw press has an emptying hopper and a helical screw which moves and compresses grapes in a compression chamber, The juice flows across grilles forming a filter-pipe. At the outlet end the filter-pipe diverges to avoid crust formation in it. The filter-pipe consists of grilles in a first cylindrical part (X) extending to the screw dowmstrea end and another, divergent, part (Y) starting with a diameter the same as that of the first part and ending in a larger diameter towards the outlet (5).
