METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TENSILE FORCE ON FILTER CLOTH OF BELT PRESS TYPE DEHYDRATOR

PURPOSE:To stabilize the moisture content of dehydrated cake and to improve post-treatment such as incineration in dehydration of flocculated sludge by a belt press type dehydrator by changing the tensile force on filter cloths in accordance with a change in the liquid level owing to a level gage. CONSTITUTION:The flocculated sludge 3 charged onto a filter cloth 1 is sandwiched between filter cloths 1 and 2 and while the sludge passes on roll groups 7-16, the cake is dehydrated and is released as dehydrated cake 23. The degree of dehydration is adjusted by the tensile degree of the cloths 1, 2 by cylinders 20, 21. The tensile degree is controlled by a level gage 22 which detects moisture content. The moisture content of the sludge 3 charged into the machine changes variously but the cake 23 having always the stable moisture content is discharged by changing the rate of dehydration, by which the post treatment such as incineration is stabilized.
