摘要

Process comprises reacting 8-hydroxy-2,4- (1H,3H)-quinoline dione with an alpha-halobutyric acid halide in the presence of a Lewis acid. The resulting corresponding 5-(alpha-halobutyryl) cpd., is reacted with isopropylamine to give the corresponding 5-(alpha-isopropylamino butyryl) cpd.. This latter cpd. is reduced by complex metal hydride to give the deriv. of formula (I).
