A conveyor apparatus for classifying and sorting articles, which has a plurality of supply troughs (5) installed parallel to each other which connect conveyor inlet ends (6) to a flat surface at one side of an article supply table (3) and which are capable of vibrating individually, a plurality of aligning conveyors (10) for aligning articles (2) fed by the corresponding troughs into single rows and conveying the articles, pool hoppers (14) provided at the conveyor outlet ends of the conveyors for opening and closing them, a bucket conveyor (15) for conveying articles dropped and thrown from the pool hoppers into buckets (16) each rotatably supported on a pivotal pin, and means for isolating the articles when a plurality of articles are thrown into a bucket.
