An ultrasonic image delivery system (50) has a device (70) connected to compare the signals received by the transducer elements (54-1 to 54-21). A device (130) is connected to inhibit or modify the gain of selected signals from the comparison so as to reduce interference from multipath ultrasonic waves, degradation or image distortion or obstruction of refraction. A transducer array (52) is in the form of sectors of circles having lengths substantially equal arcs. A digital signal processing circuit system (50) has a plurality of random access memories dual port (RAM) (66-1 to 66-21) as delay lines and a cross-correlation device (70) comprising an output addressing circuit (130) controlled by a microcomputer (128). The output address circuit (130) generates addresses for the information output from the delay line memory random access dual port (66-1 to 66-21) to perform a correction and timing disposal or other gain interference, refraction or obstruction.
