A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A HOOKED FASTENER PART FOR HOOK-AND-LOOP FASTENER AND AN APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

The continuous web of material(13) has on its upper side(15) several successive rows of loops(14) mounted laterally spaced from each other and projecting outwards. It is continuously moved forwards along a curved path (P) with the loops directed towards the outside of the curved path. One arm of each loop of one of the rows is cut through at two different points by two interacting cutters(23, 24) which move relative to each other while carrying out a two-fold to and fro movement along a given path as the row of loops is moved along the curved path(P). The twin cutters ensure an adequate opening in the loop which when cut forms a hook of sufficient length to engage with the looped material of the fastener.
