PURPOSE:To reinforce a bridge part on which a bending stress is exerted during brake, by a method wherein, during casting of a caliper, i.e., when Al or Al alloy is casted in, a foaming metal, consisting of mainly Ni, which is of three- dimensional irregular netlike structure, is embedded in the bridge part. CONSTITUTION:A caliper 10 is formed with a cylinder part 11, a bridge part 12, and outer clow 13, and a slide part 14, and is supported by means of a slide bolt 16, the one end of which is threadedly joined with a fixing member 15 so that it is slidable in the direction of the rotary shaft of a disc D. The caliper 10 is formed such that, after a foaming metal of three-dimensional irregular netlike structure consisting of mainly Ni is disposed to only the inner side surface of the bridge part 12 as shown in a drawing by hatching, molten Al or Al alloy is casted in a mold. This causes a part 12a, i.e., a part extending from a mounting part of a piston protecting bolt 21 to the upper part of an outer claw 13 pushing the upper part of a pad 18' to form a reinforcing part where a foaming metal such as Al is reacted.
