摘要

PURPOSE:To improve adsorptive capacity and stability of an adsorbent by immersing a base material comprising cordierlite in an alkaline liquid previously and allowing titanic acid to deposit in the cordierlite after drying the immersed base material to adsorb titanic acid stably to cordierlite. CONSTITUTION:In the prepn. of titanic acid/cordierlite compound adsorbent, a base material comprising porous cordierlite is immersed in the first stage in alkaline liquid and dried. Then, dipping in a titanic acid soln. to deposit titanic acid in the cordierlite. Namely, the cordierlite base material is boiled in an alkaline liquid, or immersed for a long time and then taken out and dried. By this pretreatment, the pH of the liquid at the moment of deposition of titanic acid is held securely at alkaline condition; thus, improvement of adsorptive capacity and stability of the adsorbent are realized.
