PURPOSE:To prevent the wear of operating equipments and improve the driving feeling by moving the down-shift characteristics of shift-map to the lower vehicle- speed side from the up-shift characteristics and making its inclination steeper than that of said up-shift characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A shift-down line Sd1 is moved in parallel toward the lower speed side from the shift-up line Sup, and a shift-down line Sd2 is inclined deeper toward the low vehicle-speed side and the accelerator pedal depressing side, resulting in its inclination being made steeper than that of the shift-up line Sup. Thereby, hysteresis can exist in both up shift and down shift, eliminating the repetition f unnecessary up and down shifting. Thereby, the wear of operating equipments can be prevented while good driving feeling can be obtained.
