Yarn breaker (comb) for a spinning machine comprises a cylindrical body carrying a saw tooth or needle assembly. It is produced from a yarn or a combination of yarns with a structure, wt. and bulk such that, when wound, adjacent windings entangle and form a self-supporting relatively rigid body. - Before winding, the yarn is either cut to produce the saw tooth profile after winding or is pierced and has needles inserted to form a needled breaker comb after winding.
