A specular metallic coated article of manufacture comprising a substrate, a coating of varnish by flexography and preferably gravure techniques on at least a portion of said substrate, a metallic film suspended or imbedded in said varnish, said film being on the order of magnitude of less than 1000 Angstroms in thickness.
