The device for producing a laser radiation consists of a section of quadrangular discharge chamber of insulating material, a pair of discharge electrodes between which is generated a transverse discharge the optical resonator by UV boot by means of a corona discharge, and a charging circuit or discharge current and a cooling system and gas flow. Both surfaces vis-à-vis the discharge chamber on which the electrodes are arranged are provided with a metal coating for example metal plates or sheets. The other side walls of the discharge chamber are, on the side of the interior space, conductive structures, preferably grids wire, which extend to the height of the metal coating.
