ANTIBIOTIC SUBSTANCE TAN-585C, TAN-585D, AND THEIR PREPARATION

NEW MATERIAL:The antibiotic substance of formula (R1 is -NHCHO and R3 is -OH for TAN-585C and R1 is -H and R2 is -NHCHO for TAN-585D). USE:Antibiotic substances TAN-585C and TAN-585D having antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria, and useful as a remedy for the infections diseases with myxomycetes. PREPARATION:A microbial strain capable of producing antibiotic substance TAN-585C and/or TAN-585D, belinging to Flexibacter genus and separated from the soil of the Mt. Yashino, Yoshino district, Nara perfecture, Japan (e.g. Flexibacter alginoliquefaciens YK-49 strain, FERM-7484) is inoculated in a medium, and caltured at 4-8pH and 15-35 deg.C for 8-168hr. The objective TAN-585C and TAN-585D are produced and accumulated in the culture product.
