Novel 2-amino-3-(halobenzoyl)- methylphenylacetic acids, esters and salts having the formula: IMAGE wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a pharmaceutically acceptable metal cation, Y represents a halogen atom and n is an integer from 1 to 3 are provided. The compounds exhibit outstanding anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity in warm blooded animals with minimal gastro-intestinal toxicity.
