Heat treating equipment for the meat industry. The equipment comprises a confined heat treating space within which are placed vertical space dividers at a distance corresponding to the width of the smoking-cooking carriage to provide a channel around the smoking-cooking carriage which leads through a connecting space and a vent on the top of the heat treating space either to the outside of the equipment, or in the alternate position of a valve situated in a connecting space to a return duct housing a fan to circulate the air inside the equipment.
