Appliance and method for breaking up ground used for planting

The appliance and the method are provided for breaking up ground used for planting, a probe which contains an inner tube being driven into the ground. A compressed-air quick-acting stop valve coupled to the piston of a pneumatic cylinder is located in the upper region of a substrate intermediate container, whilst an injection valve is provided in its lower region. An injector pipe guided from the quick-acting stop valve to the injection valve is coupled via a lifting rod to the piston of a further cylinder operated by compressed air and, for a time-delayed release of the injection valve, is connected to a dynamic-pressure chamber of this cylinder via an air line. Control-pressure lines are connected to the two cylinders. In addition, a compressed-air line is connected to the upper dynamic-pressure chamber of the upper compressed-air cylinder and has a pilot valve which can be actuated via a further control-pressure line. The compressed-air line connected to the dynamic-pressure chamber is connected to the air space in the inner tube of the probe via a continuous air line.
