The subject of the invention is machines for automatically calibrating and packaging round fruit or vegetables. A machine according to the invention comprises calibrating and packaging stations which are used at a crossover between a conveyor belt 3 comprising cells 4 in which the non-calibrated fruit or vegetables are placed and one of the conveyors 5, perpendicular to the conveyor 3, carrying a tray with cells 2 in which fruit of the same calibre must be packaged. Each calibrating station comprises several manipulating arms composed of two substantially perpendicular jacks 12, 17. The rod of the jack 12 carries a suction cup 14 which grasps the fruit calibrated by two detectors, each comprising a transmitter and a receiver placed in alignment on either side of the belt 3, upstream of the calibrating station.
