MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR FUEL CONSUMPTION

PURPOSE:To measure fuel consumption accurately regardless of the operation state of an internal combustion engine by calculating the amount of fuel on the basis of the detection result of the thermodynamic function of fuel and the detection result of the effective injection time when the fuel is injected. CONSTITUTION:An effective injection time detecting means C1 detects the effective injection time when the fuel F is injected actually. A fuel state detecting means C2 detects the thermodynamic function of the fuel F injected by a fuel injecting device M. Then, the amount of fuel injected by the fuel injection device M is calculated by a fuel amount calculating means C3 from the detection result of the effective injection time detecting means C2 and the detection result of the fuel injection time detecting means C. Consequently, the consumption of fuel of the internal combustion engine EG is measured accurately and speedily regardless of the operation state of the internal combustion engine.
