This process operates on the fluid bed or flue dust principle, whereby the residue particles are evacuated by means of a worm conveyer. In order to avoid pressure fluctuations in the gasification process proper, and in order to obtain continuous and trouble-insensitive residue evacuation, the discharge opening of the worm housing is fitted with an adjustable pressure device which operates a closing valve for the exercise of closing pressure.
