In this process for discharging residue particles through an extraction opening of a pressurized gasification reactor according to the principle of the fluidized bed or flying dust, said particles are discharged by means of an endless screw. In order to avoid pressure variations in the gasification process itself and to ensure a continuous and trouble-free discharge of residues, the discharge opening of the worm screw is provided with an adjustable pressure device acting on a closure member to exert a closing pressure.
