Multiple layer polymeric films, packages and flexible containers made therefrom

Films suitable for packaging usage contain blends of ethylene-based copolymers or elastomers with polypropylene and polyethylene, and can have two to five layers, wherein at least one layer (14) is a blend of high density polyethylene with an ethylene-based copolymer or an elastomer, and another layer (12) is polypropylene blended with an ethylene-­based copolymer or an elastomer. Additional polypropylene-­based layers can be adhered to the aforesaid layers (12, 14). A flexible pouch-type container e.g. for medical fluids can be made from two confronting pieces of film by forming heat seals (18) around their peripheries.
