The following specification discloses a respirator face mask (2) formed from a silicone or other vulcanised rubber with a multi-compound curved face seal (200, 202) having a superior configuration for facial fit. The mask is held by four support buttons (80-82) and two eyeletted straps attached thereto having a reverse leverage pulldown effect to pull the mask into contact with the facial area. The four buttons have eccentric parts having an undercut that overrides a loop that can be easily disassociated when the attachment loop is reversed and pulled over the button. The inhalation valve (Fig. B) is mounted on a threaded connector so as to form a slightly concave configuration to minimise the objectionable popping sound. IMAGE
