PURPOSE:To automate system operation by a simple system without the intervention of a host external computer by providing a multiwavelength UV detector to one of plural unit devices of an instrument for analysis and bringing signals among the devices under the control of a system controller. CONSTITUTION:The system controller SC is provided which controls the plural unit devices constituting the instrument for analysis of liquid chromatography. The controller SC is equipped with a CPU and a communication interface 5 for transferring signals among the unit devices. Further, the controller SC and the multiwavelength UV detector MUV of one unit device are connected by a BUS through interfaces 5 and 5. The controller SC sends instructions of wavelength, auto-zero mode, a marker, a range, the number of times of integration, and spectrum width as control items of a measurement condition to the detector MUV. At this time, both of them are allowed to have mutual communication, the measurement condition is set, and the setting is monitored. Thus, control is performed through the mutual communication between the system controller and multiwavelength MUV detector, so the instrument for analysis is automated efficiently.
