The elastic hinge comprises, on the one hand, a female knuckle 7 located at the end of a hollow slide 6 capable of sliding elastically out of a casing 5, and on the other hand, a male knuckle 1 in the form of a cam pushing into the same casing a movable piece 10 against elastic means 9. The movable piece 10 is limited in its outwards displacement by a transverse pin 13 in order to convert itself into a stop on which there bear the elastic means 9 housed inside the slide when it reacts against the slide sliding outwards. In the field of spectacles, such a hinge allows free movement of the arms between a "closed" position and an "open" position as well as an elastic movement beyond the "open" position. IMAGE
