PURPOSE:To enable an operator on the moving truck side to operate the truck while observing a reflected-wave image due to an underground buried substance, by providing a portable monitoring means on the moving truck side and by displaying said image in this monitoring means. CONSTITUTION:A computation-display control device 20 displays an echo image 4 and a pseudo-echo image 5 on a display monitor 21 by an computation control, while calculating the depth Z of a buried substance 3. In addition, the computation control device 20 outputs image data corresponding to the echo image 4 to a transmitter 22. The transmitter 22 transmits the image data containing this echo image 4 by using a frequency band of a TV wave such as VHF or UHF. These image data are received by a handy monitor 31 through an antenna 31, and thereby the hyperbolic echo image 4 is displayed on a display screen of the handy monitor 31.
